The Bikini Turns 80: How onewith Celebrated in Brooklyn, NY

This past week, in collaboration with Nina J Events, onewith swim hosted an unforgettable influencer event in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, celebrating one of fashion's most iconic inventions: the bikini's 80th anniversary!

Since its debut in 1946, the bikini has transformed from a revolutionary silhouette into a wardrobe staple. Eight decades later, we gathered creators and friends to honor that evolution, and celebrate what comes next: swimsuits that fit like underwear^®.

A Vintage-Inspired Bikini Anniversary Party in Brooklyn

With sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline as our backdrop, the evening transported guests back to the glamour of the 1940s while showcasing just how far swimwear has come.

Every detail was designed to celebrate bikini history with a modern twist. Guests partied like it was 1946, with a night full of vintage-inspired experiences, thoughtfully curated food and drinks, and plenty of opportunities to capture the moment

The event featured:

• A vintage-inspired candy stand

• Signature cocktails and mocktails, including the Second-Skin Spritz and Shoreline Shirley

• A curated Bikini Museum showcasing swimwear from the 1940s, 1960s, 1980s, 2000s, and today, including onewith's patented swimsuits that fit like undies

• A shopping station featuring our dig-free swimsuits

• Compact mirror engraving

• Beautiful NYC skyline photo moments

• Gift bag station filled with products from brands we love

• And the highlight of the evening: a breathtaking synchronized swimming performance! You know they had to wear our Bellows second-skin one piece in the water!

Celebrating 80 Years of Bikini Innovation

Our bikini museum was a whole vibe. Not only was it a perfect backdrop for photos, but it was also so interesting to see how far swimwear has come!  

The display walked guests through the evolution of women's swimwear across five different eras, highlighting how bikini styles, construction, and comfort have changed over the past 80 years.

The final chapter? onewith swimwear that fits like no-show underwear.

As the inventors of swim that fits like undies, we wanted to demonstrate how swimwear has continued to evolve, not just in style, but in comfort and functionality.

Unlike traditional swimsuits that rely on bulky elastic, seams, and compression, our patented second-skin swimsuit construction creates a flattering bikini fit that lays flat against the body without digging or squeezing.

Celebrating bikini history felt like the perfect opportunity to showcase where we're taking swimwear next!
